Kyler Murray has received his fair share of criticism in recent years, but it was not that long ago when he was a fantasy darling after finishing as the QB4 in his explosive sophomore season.
Largely on the back of an elite rushing workload, Murray took the league by storm in 2020. But it is not as if he came out of nowhere after being selected with the first overall pick in 2019 and finishing as fantasy’s QB9 that year.
There is a quarterback from the 2024 rookie class whose rookie season ran parallel to Murray’s in more ways than one. While he may not possess the level of athleticism to match Murray’s otherworldly rushing efficiency, he proved to be no slouch in the run game during his first year in the league. Additionally, his team has already begun to upgrade the roster around him, with more additions likely to come in the draft. With all arrows pointing up, will this QB be able to build upon his rookie season enough to match Murray’s prolific Year 2?
