Rome Odunze was the last top-10 wide receiver draft pick who still needed to have a breakout game in 2024. Now that he, Marvin Harrison, and Malik Nabers have all finished near the top of the WR ranks in at least one of the first three weeks, it’s worth asking how the current class stacks up against past classes.
Listen as Hasan, Kevin, and I discuss these rookie performances and more on the RotoViz Fantasy Football Report.
First of all, not every recent class even had a WR picked in the top 10. But in the last 10 years, many receivers drafted in the first 10 picks have started off quickly. However, no one has started as quickly as Nabers.
Both Nabers and Harrison are among the six players on the list with positive FPOE in their first three games. No player had more targets or receptions than Nabers. Only Ja’Marr Chase had more touchdowns than Nabers and Harrison.
When we’re looking for a draft class with close comps for Nabers and Harrison, perhaps we have to go back a little further.
