Blair Andrews examines Brock Bowers’ historic start to his rookie season. Listen as Blair, Hasan Rahim, and Kevin Szafraniec discuss Bowers’ fantasy impact in Week 2 on the RotoViz Fantasy Football Report.
Through two games, Brock Bowers leads all tight ends in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Since 2000, only four other tight ends have garnered more than 12 targets in their first two games.
Despite not scoring a touchdown, Bowers is the only player on this list with positive fantasy points over expected. Of course targets aren’t stats that score fantasy points, so perhaps it’s helpful to look elsewhere. Only four other TEs have gained at least 130 receiving yards.
Dissly’s two TDs in his first two weeks enabled him to outscore Bowers, but the 2024 rookie still bests him in most other statistical categories. Yet Dissly only outscores Bowers in PPR scoring. In TE-premium formats, Bowers’ 15 receptions are a difference-maker. Only two other TEs since 2000 have had at least 10 receptions.
