It’s all changed at the running back spot for the Cincinnati Bengals heading into the 2024 season. The team signed former Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss to a two-year, $8m deal. They then announced they were releasing Joe Mixon, although this changed on Day 2 of the “Legal Tampering” period when the team decided to trade him to the Houston Texans instead. Just another normal day in Cincy, then.
The Old Guy
Joe Mixon had been the spearhead of the Bengals ground attack for several years. He had been productive and ended his time with the team ranked third all-time in franchise history with 6,412 rushing yards. Since he established himself as the starter in 2018, Mixon amassed 5,787 rushing yards, the fifth most in the NFL in that span.
