Zero RB is Defining the Season: Best Ball Mania IV Advance Rate Review – Week 6

This week in my Best Ball Mania IV (BBM4) advance rate review we’ll be veering off the path we’ve carved thus far to take a look at roster constructions. Underdog released the entire field of teams in their flagship contest two weeks ago and it’s time to put that data to work. We’ll be looking at roster construction by position. Sorting by position helps us understand which strategies (elite quarterback, late-round tight end, etc.) are working the best without conflating them too much.

Obviously, we can’t totally wash out the relationships between constructions. If elite quarterbacks are dominating, it’s natural that we’ll see high advance rates from some of the late-round constructions at other positions. We also can’t ignore the impact of individual players on the success of certain strategies. We’ll lean into both of these factors and try to identify the relationships between constructions and specific players that are defining their success.

Each position’s chart will categorize teams by the draft capital they spent at the position (along the top) and the number of players they selected at that position (along the bottom). The y-axis shows the percentage above or below the average advance rate (16.67%) for each grouping. Green bars denote above average constructions; red bars below average.
