How To Crush Your Draft From The 12 Spot: Flexible Stack Options and Tournament-Winning Upside

The $125 Best Ball Tournament over on FFPC is a great format to draft in. It adds two extra rounds compared to Underdog and it has the element of tight end premium scoring. It is also full PPR for all other skill positions, and wide receivers go slightly later than they do on Underdog. For WR heavy drafters it is a real “have your cake and eat it too” type situation. It is good practice to play on different sites and try to get your targets at the best possible prices. It is also a much smaller final field you are going up against for the grand prize.

Shawn Seigele and I recently drafted a team in this tournament from the 12-slot. Over the past three years, this is basically the worst spot you could have drafted from.

The 1.01 curse has continued with Christian McCaffrey being injured in 2020 and 2021, and then Jonathan Taylor being injured in 2022. Hopefully, Justin Jefferson can buck that trend in 2023.

Shawn and I knew we were going to have to get creative from this spot because the options at wide receiver for the Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase drafter are often quite good coming back around. In this article, I will break down Rounds 1-8 in our quest for the $200,000 grand prize! I will touch on the individual player profiles, and how those profiles tie into what we are trying to accomplish from a structural standpoint.
