- 2021 – 6th place (missed payout by 56 points)
This squad has been a borderline prize team in both seasons I’ve run it, but has lacked the elite, league winning upside necessary in a longstanding league with other solid high stakes managers. It looked really strong on paper entering the 2022 season, but lack of punch at running back[1]nobody had a ceiling season, or even a 50th percentile outcome season, really coupled with disappointing seasons by Russell Wilson and Mark Andrews[2]was merely good, not elite doomed this squad in 2022.
It’s never going to be an easy league to win.
Like Shawn Siegele, I prefer to operate in the Perennial Championship Window, so tearing this squad to bits for rookie picks alone (despite its veteran-heavy makeup) simply isn’t an option. The goal here is to close a few deals to optimize my weekly starting lineup while also adding some additional draft capital to invest in the top tier of the 2023 rookie class or have a more enticing pick to trade for veteran help.
Ok, now for the recently completed transaction.
