In 1 Big Thing, Blair Andrews uses the RotoViz tools to take a deep dive into an interesting, unique, and potentially actionable development from the last week of fantasy football.
Trevor Lawrence was the No. 1 overall pick in 2021, but failed to live up to the hype, as he struggled with passing efficiency throughout his rookie season. He had only four QB1 weeks in 2021, and finished outside the top-24 on six occasions.
Fantasy managers were understandably disappointed, and as a result Lawrence was available well into the double-digit rounds of drafts, despite his pedigree.
A Tale of Two Seasons
His second season also got off to a slow start, as was held below 20 fantasy points in three of his first five games. Over the last four weeks, however, Lawrence has had three games with at least 300 passing yards and three touchdowns. In that time, he’s thrown 11 touchdowns and only one interception, while completing nearly 68% of his passes.
He’s also added one rushing TD. Only Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen have scored more fantasy points over the last four weeks. No player has more passing TDs, and no players with more passing yards have as few interceptions.
Lawrence’s Place in History
Since 2000, only one second-year quarterback has been more effective for fantasy managers from Week 12 on.
