Looking for juice at the end of your draft? Curtis Patrick shares targets who could be your late-round lifeline in 2022.
Whether you consider yourself a calculating, structural drafting expert or a “play the best plays” chest-thumper, everyone can surely see the benefit in staying engaged through the final rounds of a fantasy football draft and selecting players with real upside. If you’ve started a draft too late at night or tried to juggle too many concurrent fast drafts[1]not that I’ve done this, ever, you’ve undoubtedly made some cringeworthy late-round picks.
I’ve curated a short list of players who have ADPs out of alignment with their early season roles or their relatively easy paths to more playing time in uncertain depth chart situations. Think of this as a non-running-back complement to Shawn Siegele Zero RB Candidates List.
Oh, and these players are actually real sleepers. Every player in this article has an ADP of 180.1 or later; that’s round 16 at the earliest. Also, my money is on these players; they’re big exposures in my portfolio of over 400 teams this season.
The first mystery sleeper actually has an ADP greater than 200.0 on FFPC and Underdog.
- He’s a rookie with Day 2 draft capital
- Our Prospect Box Score Scout dynasty tool lists Keenan Allen and Jarvis Landry among his closest sims
- Allen (WR18) and Landry (WR29) were both fantasy darlings as rookies
- He’s the starting slot wide receiver for his team in Week 1
WR87? Are you kidding me? This guy is going to crush his positional ADP in 2022, and he might as well do it on your roster. Check out this play (plus one more wide receiver and a tight end) below.
