Michael Pittman is a controversial player this offseason. Those who drafted him last year enjoyed his second-year breakout at a great price. He was being drafted in Round 8 after about 40 other wide receivers. He finished as the WR18 in PPR formats. This finish, combined with the addition of Matt Ryan, has vaulted him all the way up to the early third round in 2022 drafts. Pittman is still an enticing WR target, but we can perhaps find even better value by searching for 2022’s Pittman — the player drafted outside the top-40 WRs who has a chance to crack the top 20 at the end of the season.
We know that second-year wide receivers are one of the biggest edges in drafts. We also know that, especially on Underdog, second-year WRs are the most expensive they have ever been, due to more people prioritizing this in drafts. The edge has gotten smaller but it is still exploitable. We just need to make sure we are getting them at good prices. Today I will make the case for two WRs that are bargains at ADP, and have the chance to rise multiple rounds in 2023 ADP.
