Why A.J Brown’s Move to Philadelphia Could Vault Him Into the First Round in Best Ball Drafts

We are off and running into the best part of the fantasy football calendar — draft season. 2022 should be the most exciting year yet with best ball tournament prizes growing larger on FFPC and Underdog. Michael Dubner has laid out some incredible thoughts on the optimal time to draft these tournament teams. Conor O’Driscoll has presented a very simple strategy for building a unique roster on Underdog.

When pairing these amazing tactics together with strong player analysis is where we pour gasoline on the fire and leave our league mates in the dust. This summer I will be bringing you unique player analysis on hot button players and trying to help us decide if these players are a value at their current cost.

This week: A.J. Brown. As a Titans fan this was a very disappointing trade for me, but from a fantasy football perspective this could be really fun. The sentiment after the trade seemed to be a neutral move for Brown because he is going from a run first offense to another run first offense, with a more crowded group of pass catchers. His ADP seems to reflect that, as he has not seen a spike in ADP yet.

While Philly was a run first offense in 2021, does trading for a player of Browns caliber shift that philosophy? Will Brown be able to maintain his insane efficiency with his new team? Most importantly — how does he stack up against the players going in the same pocket of the draft that he is?
