Dynasty Rankings & Tiers Update – How I’m Valuing the 5 Rookie Superstars

Our team has been slaying rookie content this week and the onslaught will continue until we’ve got every noteworthy player updated with draft capital and landing spot analysis. Dynasty Rankings Strategy Notes

The post-NFL Draft dynasty rankings update is one of the most important updates of the year. If you show too little conviction then access to certain players may never be possible again without severe overpayment. Conversely, overconfidence can lead to unwise moves and send an entire portfolio down a path to shambles.

Many leagues start their rookies drafts in the next week, including our RotoViz TriFlex Dynasty Leagues on FFPC^[1]I partnered with FFPC in 2021 to create unique RotoViz dynasty leagues with entry fees as low as $77 and go as high as $5,000. Our leagues are full of active, competitive and committed owners who love dynasty and dynasty best ball leagues. If you’re a dynasty player and you want a challenge, look no further.. The second leg of offseason dynasty startups typically launches this week too, and understanding how rookies should be valued versus veterans is a key part of building a team that can be a perennial winner.

Luckily, a combination of fifteen years of personal dynasty success and an awesome team of analysts wielding our industry-best tools remove nearly all of the stress from this process for me. We start our player evaluation so early ^[2]Travis May and our devy team track players as soon as they enter college that adjusting for draft capital and landing spot is just the cherry-on-top of rookie evaluation season. Plus, our dynasty tools help us stay grounded in facts and guard against over-adjusting for the media circus, coach-speak, and dynasty community groupthink. For example, the Prospect Box Score Scout helps us understand how players compare to historical prospects over the past 20-plus seasons so we can envision a range of outcomes in the NFL. Data such as age, draft capital, physical and athletic measurements, single season and career production metrics are all part of the recipe.

One last note before my player takes: our dynasty rankings and tiers make it easier than ever to understand trade values, too.

Translating Tiers into Equivalent Rookie Pick Value:

• Tier 1 = 3 1sts or more
• Tier 2 = 2 1sts
• Tier 3 = 1st + 2nd

I now have five rookies valued in Tier 2 or Tier 3. There are 11 tiers in all, which extend through players who don’t even need to be rostered.

I ended up with one running back and four wide receivers inside my top-46 overall dynasty rankings for SuperFlex startups.

If the players were just rookie picks, here is how they would rate in equivalent dynasty startup value:

1.01 – 16 overall

1.02 -38 overall

1.03 – 40 overall

1.04 – 42 overall

1.05 – 46 overall
