We’re in the process of a RotoViz writers draft on Underdog, and as you might expect wide receivers were flying off the board early and often. I was lucky enough to draw the 1.01 where I selected Christian McCaffrey, but Shawn Siegele’s recent thoughts on what might be in store for Jonathan Taylor in 2022 already have me rethinking that selection.
Since I was picking at the turn I had to lock down an elite tight end at the 2/3 turn to supercharge my roster. I also had to lock down a wide receiver serious upside because the rest of the wide receivers were looking pretty brutal for that stage of the draft. Once you get into the fourth round it really feels like the WR Apocalypse.
I opted to select DeAndre Hopkins to anchor my wide receiver group, which raises the key questions: Is he actually part of the tier before the WR Apocalypse? Or should he be going even later in drafts? Most importantly, can he bounce back? If he does bounce back what should we expect from him in 2022?
