The RotoViz Staff and Friends best ball draft on Underdog just wrapped up. It was our first staff draft of the season, and there were certainly some fun twists and turns. Perhaps the most surprising move was Zero RB Founding Father Shawn Siegele not drafting a WR through five rounds. In the middle rounds, we saw RBs start to fall down draft boards with Blair Andrews drafting just one RB through 10 rounds. Now that the draft is complete, we will take a look at each team’s final roster construction and draft decisions.
Team Reviews
1.01 Michael Hitchcock:
- Roster Construction:
- Elite QB, Elite TE, Balanced RB, WR5 by Round 10
- How This Team Wins:
- Getting the 1.01 is an immediate advantage with access to a legendary RB season. Hitchock builds on the 1.01 advantage by dominating the onesie positions with dual Elite QB and Elite TE, including his QB2 in the window. Hitchcock partly regrets drafting Lamar Jackson at the 5.01, as 15 of the next 22 picks were WRs. Despite falling behind at WR in the early rounds, he’s still able to put together a solid group of WR depth with his WR5 by Round 10. By sticking to just four onesie positions, he’s able to add quantity to his WR group, and mixed in different WR profiles (rookies, deep threats, floor plays).
