The new league year is just around the corner. When it gets here, that means free agency. And who amongst us doesn’t get excited at seeing player X holding up the jersey of team Y after years of success with team Z, only to become too expensive to keep? Of course, it is a period of funny money, with deals of five years with multi-millions of dollars in guarantees essentially turning into two years and “we’ll see.” But it’s nice to dream, isn’t it?
Here, I look at the five biggest free agents at the tight end spot ahead of them hitting the open market. These include players who will look to cash in after playing out rookie deals, or seasoned vets looking for one last hurrah, or players just looking for a fresh start. Let’s dive straight in.
