I can’t believe the Thanksgiving slate is already here. The season is just flying by. I just want to say I am thankful to be able to write this article. The team here at RotoViz has been awesome, welcoming me with open arms. I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to be part of this team. Happy Thanksgiving to the whole RotoViz community, especially all the amazing readers out there!
The Thanksgiving slate really is one of the best slates of the year. First, you can throw out a lot of the main slate rules, such as avoiding two running backs from the same game, or avoiding a wide receiver with a minor role. On small slates, we need to be comfortable being uncomfortable.
The other advantage is that we get to watch one game at a time and use the information we get to make decisions as the games progress. Late swap is probably the biggest edge in DFS, but it is even more important on slates this small. If you have lots of plays that failed at high ownership, you need to throw salary out the window and pivot to some low-owned uncomfortable plays. We usually get an hour between games to look at our lineups and see what we need to catch up or stay ahead. Use this to your advantage.
