The NFL season is flying by. Last week Cooper Kupp ($9000) and Ja’Marr Chase ($7500) were the guys breaking the slate, just like they have done many times this season. Now they are priced up, so it makes it tougher to play them than in previous weeks. Kupp started the season at $6000 and is now averaging 27 PPR points per game, which would be the all-time wide receiver fantasy scoring record if he keeps this pace up. Chase is on pace to shatter every rookie WR record. Both of these guys get matchups against two of the worst teams in the NFL this week, so they will be big decision points on this slate.
As always in this space, I will recommend the stacks I like the best and what constructions make the most sense. I put most of my money each week into very small field tournaments (500 people or fewer). I prefer these types of contests because it is not necessary to get all parts of the lineup right. In these small fields, you may only need to get one or two things right to give yourself a chance to get to the top. Last week I had the right idea with the Tom Brady ($7400) double-stack with Chris Godwin ($6400) and O.J. Howard ($3000). Brady made a rare mistake and missed a wide-open Howard in the end-zone that may have cost me a min cash, but the big mistake I made was playing Derrick Henry ($8900) over Kupp.
