Curtis Patrick shares some of his favorite plays of the week for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo! DFS games for Week 1 of the NFL season.
I’m as excited as you are to get into this week’s DFS 2-Minute Drill, featuring some of my favorite plays of the week. But first, a quick review of our awesome DFS research tools.
My Favorite RotoViz Resources for DFS research
RotoViz NFL Stat Explorer – Matchup Analysis Tab
This is my favorite place to visit on our entire site during the NFL season. Everything you could want to know about a player’s matchup this week is on this page, from opponent difficulty, to player performance in games with similar Vegas lines, to scoring trends against his opponent over the past five games. It’s a snapshot worth more than a thousand words.
Generate optimal lineups and/or control your exposure percentages for mass entry for DraftKings, FanDuel, or Yahoo! DFS slates.
Pace determines play counts, and play counts determine player opportunity. Our Pace App is a great resource for identifying which games project to play the fastest each week, which is a great way to identify games to stack or games where a cheap player might see more opportunity than normal.
The GPS Matchup Rater was designed to identify offensive players with favorable or unfavorable matchups based on the areas of the field in which they generally earn opportunity.
You can sort the matchup ratings in a list of all players, or directly compare two players you’re considering at the same position. This tool is also great for start-sit decisions in your weekly leagues.
There are other great resources that work for DFS and redraft, such as our often imitated but never duplicated, world-famous Game Splits App. Ok, now that you know what to use for your own research on the site and how I identify my own player targets, let’s get into this week’s top plays.
