Travis Etienne was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 25 pick in the 2021 NFL draft. This is why the Jaguars owned the No. 1 overall pick in the first place.
James Robinson was the shining light for Jacksonville last year. He ranked No. 7 in Expected Fantasy points (EP) and No. 10 in fantasy points over expectation (FPOE). He scored seven rushing touchdowns. He caught 49 passes. He was the RB5 on a per-game basis.
The Jaguars treated him like a low-rent version of Phillip Lindsay. But this isn’t about James Robinson, or at least it isn’t all about him. If the Jaguars had to make such a mind-numbing move, at least they made it for a superstar.
