It’s often easy to get caught up in the signings that really move the needle of the fantasy landscape. Twitter was set a blaze on the first day of legal tampering when the Patriots went for a complete overhaul that included the signings of Jonnu Smith and Nelson Agholor.
The idea of Ryan Fitzpatrick airing out one deep pass after another to Terry McLaurin also generated some buzz. That excitement was reignited when the Football Team had also acquired wide receiver Curtis Samuel.
While these signings are exciting and potentially impactful, both for the teams making them and fantasy owners, the lesser moves are worthy of some hype as well.
Rashard Higgins Remains a Brown
Earlier this week it was announced that the Browns had re-signed free agent wide receiver Rashard Higgins. While the Browns re-signing Higgins doesn’t carry the same weight of a trade for Odell Beckham Jr. or a signing of Jarvis Landry, it’s still a solid move for both sides.
Higgins, a fifth-round draft pick by the Browns in 2016, has slowly come into his own as a member of the Browns receiving corps.
After a rookie season in which he finished with a receiving line of 6/77/0 on 12 targets, Higgins has gone on to see 50-plus targets in three of the past four seasons.
