Cam Sims

The Washington Football Team was without Terry McLaurin in Week 16 against the Panthers (ankle). McLaurin’s absence opened the door for Cam Sims to emerge as the leading receiver.

Sims finished third on the team in targets (9), but led all receivers on the day. McLaurin is reportedly in a walking boot with a high ankle sprain and is likely to miss Week 17 against the Eagles. If McLaurin were to miss Week 17, we could be looking at another high-volume day for Sims.

From a fantasy perspective, Sims didn’t enjoy the greatest day. Despite seeing nine targets, he only managed three receptions for 63 yards and 9.3 PPR (WR43). Even with the underwhelming fantasy production, Sims drawing nine targets and 168 air yards in McLaurin’s absence is encouraging.
