It’s not too often we witness a young, rising player switch teams part way through his career and then continue to elevate his game to even greater heights. This is precisely what we’ve seen from wide receiver Stefon Diggs this season. After five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Diggs was traded to the Buffalo Bills for a handful of picks, one of which was a 2020 first-round pick. In his first year with Buffalo, Diggs has been one of the most consistent, elite wideouts in the league.

However, Diggs put together a great outing versus the Denver Broncos secondary before exiting the game. He hauled in 11 of his 13 targets for 147 yards in the win. This was the third straight 10-plus catch game for Diggs and fourth in his last five. It would be difficult to find a hotter wide receiver in the league right now. Hopefully, this injury won’t be significant as Diggs will be a locked-in WR1 going forward.
New Team, New Diggs
Diggs had a successful career in Minnesota by finishing inside the top 30 four straight seasons and finishing inside the top 24 each of the last three years. He and former teammate Adam Thielen combined to be one of the best duos in football, and both experienced a high level of success on the field. Despite being on a run-centric offense, Diggs produced efficient, consistent numbers.
The trade rumors surrounding Diggs were swirling throughout most of the 2019 season, and the Vikings and Bills finally made it official in March. The move brought with it a variety of reactions and predictions across the fantasy football community. Even some of the best writers at RotoViz could not agree about what to do with Diggs heading into 2020. Madison Parkhill explained why Diggs still offered an elite ceiling even after the trade, while Jack Miller suggested fading Diggs based on historical research of receivers switching teams. Both takes were rooted in research, but Diggs has clearly shown he’s one of the best in the league this season.
