Last season, Josh Allen was considered a rushing quarterback who added some value with his arm. He barely crested the 3,000-yard passing mark and only tossed 20 touchdowns. His fantasy production primarily came via his legs, where he topped 500 rushing yards and scored nine times.
Oh, how 2020 continues to surprise.
Allen has been on an absolute tear through four weeks this season. The Buffalo Bills are 4-0 and have scored at least 27 points in all four games. Allen has been the primary driver of their success in both real and fantasy football.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has looked like an MVP candidate through the first four games of the regular season. He completed 24 of 34 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Allen also rushed three times for another touchdown. His accuracy has looked much better this season and his play style fits well in this offense. Fantasy owners can continue leaning on Allen every week as an elite QB1.
Once Just a Rusher
Fantasy owners know how valuable a rushing floor is for quarterbacks. Take a look at the top fantasy scoring quarterbacks over the last few seasons — nearly all of them offer above-average production in the rushing department. For his part, Allen ended 2018 on a high note and continued his success throughout last season.
You can see that in games where he didn’t finish as a QB1, he likely wasn’t the reason your team lost that given week. While his lack of passing production could be frustrating at times, the fantasy points still came. Allen has finished as a top-24 QB in 86% of his games since Week 12 of 2018.
