Fantasy owners had to wait an additional week for his season debut, but Miles Sanders had an impressive first game in Week 2. After missing Week 1 with a hamstring injury, Sanders totaled 23 touches on 27 opportunities and amassed 131 yards from scrimmage. Looking ahead, he figures to remain an integral part of the Philadelphia Eagles offense both on the ground and through the air.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (hamstring) looked healthy in his return to the lineup in Week 2. He ran the ball 20 times for 95 yards and a touchdown, adding three catches for 36 more yards. Sanders missed Week 1 and was questionable for this one, but he looked good and was easily the best player on the Eagles roster today. His score came on a five-yard run up the middle at the end of the first half. Sanders should continue to be the most valuable fantasy piece on a struggling Philadelphia offense.
Talent vs. Coaching
Of the many fiercely debated offseason topics, one of my favorites to follow surrounded the coaching philosophy of Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. Long thought of as a coach who preferred to utilize multiple running backs (the dreaded RBBC), the claim from many was that he never had a talent like Sanders in the backfield. Down the stretch last season, Sanders got his chance.
