Over the last few weeks, Zachary Krueger has been breaking down players we should target per the Positional Heat Map in the Best Ball Win Rate Explorer. The articles on quarterbacks and running backs can be found below. This article, the third of the series, focuses on wide receivers.
With limited time left before the first game of the NFL season gets underway, it’s time to press in and finalize any additional adds to our best ball portfolios.
This series has focused on boosting our win rates by way of the Best Ball Win Rate Explorer tool. The win rate explorer gives us several things to consider as we attempt to build the winningest teams. In addition to player stack analysis, we also have the positional heat map.
The heat map provides us with a round-by-round look at individual positions, and shows where selecting them may best improve win rates. Be sure to check out my previous articles in the series below, as we dive into the wide receiver position.

Winning the Late Rounds
When looking at the heat map within the tool, you will notice that the late double-digit rounds offer significant upside. While grabbing a wide receiver between the third and fifth rounds adds to your win percentage as well, I figure it better to hone in on the late-round guys instead of pointing out obvious studs in the early rounds.
