After a year of rookie year filled with disappointment, Andy Isabella is impressing in camp according to RotoViz News:
Second-year Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Andy Isabella has made a good impression on coaches so far in training camp. Cardinals wide receivers coach David Raih said that this year, Isabella is “much more mature” and that his “game is much more fluid.” With the addition of DeAndre Hopkins, it might be even harder for Isabella to find the field as he has Hopkins, Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald ahead of him in the pecking order while he’s also competing with KeeSean Johnson and Hakeem Butler. It’s going to be hard for Isabella to make much of an impact in fantasy terms this year, but his improvement is certainly a good sign for him long term.
Even if Isabella remains no higher than fourth in the pecking order, any step forward would be a big deal for his fantasy owners. Outside of the long TD he scored in Week 9, the former UMass star was barely involved.
But we all remember who else was barely involved as a rookie: D.J. Chark.
The No. 61 pick in the 2018 draft scored only 31 points before vaulting to WR18 in his second year.
Why did Sam Wallace identify Isabella as one of 3 Receivers Who Could Be the Next D.J. Chark? The parallels between the two are eerie.
