Don’t call it a comeback! Well actually, as this is a sequel to a series that ran prior to the 2019 NFL season, I suppose you should call it a comeback. Anyway, call it what you want but this piece will focus not on the superstars of the NFL, but rather their understudies. Players that our writers believe could be fantasy relevant producers in the coming season if only something were to happen to the man in their way. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the 2020 Guys Behind the Guy.
I asked our crew at RotoViz to nominate their favorite second-stringer, or even third-stringer, who they would back to make a solid fist of things if they were to get their opportunity. The commoner who would be king, so to speak. They came back with a host of candidates across three different position groups. For the ease of the reader, not to mention the hero putting this compilation together,[1]No applause is necessary dear reader I have split up the players into running backs and pass-catchers. Here, in our opening salvo, we shall look at the RBs.
Here are four players currently sitting behind another on their team’s depth chart, just waiting for a chance to explode. When it happens, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
