Every offseason brings new opportunities, new hope, and new possibilities. Teams look to reload and make the changes needed to get over the playoff hump. Others are looking to run it back to the Conference Championship or the Super Bowl. Still, others are rebuilding and addressing team needs via free agency or the draft.
I’m narrowing my scope to focus on three teams that will have a new face under center entering the 2020 season. Whether through the draft or free agency, these squads bring fantasy intrigue to the table. Let’s take a closer look at several offenses to monitor due to changes at the quarterback position.
Cincinnati Bengals
Let’s start with a look at the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Cincinnati Bengals surprised no one when they selected franchise-hopeful quarterback Joe Burrow. You’ve heard it all before. The LSU Tigers had one the most impressive seasons in college football history and capped it off with a National Title. The Heisman Winner himself, Burrow, had an interesting trajectory throughout his collegiate career.
If you pull up his film, you’ll see a ton of positives. He possesses excellent pocket awareness and always keeps his eyes downfield. In addition to his gaudy touchdown numbers, he’s also more than a capable rusher to cap it off. He won’t light up the box score with his legs, but he’s more than mobile enough to pick up chunks of yards and move the chains.
