The New York Jets are eagerly looking forward to what they can get out of tight end Chris Herndon in 2020. According to Connor Hughes of The Athletic, “to say the Jets can’t wait to get (him) back in their lineup is a vast understatement.” Hughes doubled down on this sentiment on Tuesday, remarking that they “had sky-high expectations” for him in 2019. But suspension and injury limited Herndon to just 18 snaps last season.
Herndon could present an intriguing late-round option at the TE spot in 2020 if he is back to full health.
Coming Out of College
An unimpressive athletic specimen out of Miami, Herndon’s draft stock as the 107th overall pick in 2018 didn’t bring up too many impressive comparisons given his college production.
