Shawn Siegele looks at his favorite deep sleepers in the 2020 NFL draft, picking a running back, wide receiver, and tight end who could each emerge from deep in Day 3.
Locating sleepers is among the most fun elements of fantasy football. When you hit on players like Aaron Jones or Stefon Diggs, it completely revitalizes your dynasty team at a fraction of the normal cost. But we enjoy sleepers not just for what they do for us as fantasy owners. We love to root for underdog stories. It gratifies a deep-seated need to give credit to those who have accomplished impressive feats in relative anonymity. It appeals to our instinct for fairness.
The NFL draft may not be fair, but we can praise the next round of potential sleepers.
Hopefully at least one member of this trio will sneak into Day 2, but they could also slip out of the draft entirely. That would be unfortunate after impressive collegiate careers.
