2 Reasons I’m Drafting Nick Chubb Over Ezekiel Elliott

A couple weeks ago, I participated in an NFFC draft and ended up with the fifth pick. Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara and Jonathan Taylor were the first four selections, and I was staring at a few running backs with red flags. Saquon Barkley, who is recovering from a torn ACL and Derrick Henry, facing inevitable regression and an offensive shake up.[1] Drafting RBs in the first round with red flags is easily the quickest way to lose your league. Normally I would’ve just pivoted with a Zero-RB approach, but here I opted to select Nick Chubb, a player with a high floor and an underrated ceiling. The next player off the board was Ezekiel Elliott. After the draft I questioned myself a bit for going the route I did. I mean, everything is pointing toward Zeke bouncing back, right?

Here are two reasons I will continue drafting Chubb over Elliott.

Constructing A Zero RB Monster In An FPPC Best Ball Slim Draft

Last week, Shawn Siegele and friend of RotoViz Sal Stefanile co-drafted and live-streamed an FPPC best ball slim draft. You can watch the replay here. I hopped in for a little fun and while it didn’t go fully to plan, I ended up with a squad Shawn labeled “a pure RotoViz branded team.” It’s absolutely true because the strategy was mostly formed by our best…...

Could 2021’s Nyheim Hines Come From The Rams Backfield?

In 2021, Nyheim Hines had an ADP outside the top 150. His team had just drafted one of the best college running backs in history, and drafters were wary that he might lose the pass-catching role he’d come to enjoy. Furthermore, it looked like he was the third running back on the team’s depth chart, behind the rookie Jonathan Taylor and the incumbent Marlon Mack. But…...

I Love Keenan Allen But I Hate His ADP

If there’s a surefire way to earn our love here at Rotoviz, it is to be uber-productive. Since being drafted in 2013, Keenan Allen has been one of the most productive receivers in the league. He’s one of only fourteen receivers to haul in 400 receptions over that time and he did it in the second fewest games played. Also Allen’s last two seasons…...
