Josh Allen was drafted seventh overall by the Buffalo Bills. Allen was the fourth overall QB in the RotoViz Scouting Index but was drafted as the third quarterback off the board, ahead of the highly regarded Josh Rosen.
Allen lands on a team that is perhaps the best quarterback destination from a playing-time perspective. The Bills traded away their former starter Tyrod Taylor and signed A.J. McCarron to a contract this offseason. McCarron’s contract has relatively little guaranteed money though, and includes playing-time incentives if he does take significant snaps in 2018. Although the Bills were a playoff team in 2017, they vastly outperformed their pythagorean wins and shouldn’t be afraid to hand the reins to a rookie immediately.
