Tucker Kraft Just Put Up the Best Evasion Season by a TE in the Advanced Stats Era: TE Advanced Stats Deep Dive, Part 4

When it comes to fantasy football, receiving production at running back, wide receiver, and tight end is the backbone of strong roster construction. While counting stats such as yards, receptions, and touchdowns helps to tell the story, delving deeper can help fantasy managers identify breakouts before they occur, rather than react to last year’s trends.

That is where RotoViz’s Advanced Stats Explorer comes in. With six years of advanced passing, rushing, and receiving data, the Advanced Stats Explorer gives us an opportunity to get ahead of the competition by digging deeper into the data. This can help to both find potential stars and identify players who could be headed for a decline before other fantasy managers see it coming.

After being drafted as the TE2 for the Packers in 2024, Tucker Kraft capitalized on Luke Musgrave’s early-season injury to claim the top spot on Green Bay’s depth chart and finish as the PPR TE10 last season. Despite only receiving the 17th most expected points at the position, Kraft proved to be efficient with his opportunities, finishing third among TEs in FPOE.

Much of that efficiency was due to defenders not being able to get Kraft on the ground, as he proved to be shifty enough to make people miss and strong enough to shrug would-be tacklers off of him. While Kraft’s high evasion rates could have been predicted after seeing how well he performed in yards after the catch (YAC) in Part 3 of the series, the two stats are not always positively correlated to one another. With Kraft’s evasion fueling his rise into fantasy TE1 territory, which other young TEs could be on the verge of seeing their stocks rise?

With Comps to Late Bloomers Like Davante Adams, Robert Woods, and Michael Crabtree, Can This WR Buck the Trend with a Year 2 Breakout?

Robert Woods was drafted at the beginning of the second round in 2013 by Buffalo, but had to wait six years before seeing his first breakout season. Following his first 200-point PPR season in 2018, he put up two more in consecutive seasons. The 49ers selected Michael Crabtree with the 10th pick of the 2009 draft, but he did not break out until his fourth…...

Is the Sky the Limit For This WR Whose First Year Looked A Lot Like Tyreek Hill’s Rookie Season?

Due to off-the-field issues, Tyreek Hill was not selected until the fifth round of the 2016 draft. If based solely on attributes, he would have easily come off of the board in one of the first two rounds. Hill’s talent was never in doubt, and he proved it by putting up more than 200 PPR points and finishing as the PPR WR18 during his rookie…...
