The NFL draft always gives us a few future stars who weren’t household names when they entered the league. If you’ve been playing fantasy long enough, you remember what a force Brandon Marshall was. You might not remember he was only a fourth-round pick, and played sparingly in his rookie year before exploding over the next few seasons.
His former teammate Alshon Jeffery was drafted a bit earlier (in the second round) but followed a similar career arc.
While the top end of the 2024 rookie wide receiver class gave us some of the best NFL debuts we have ever seen, it also gave us at least one unheralded first-year WR who might be following the Marshall and Jeffery path. This overlooked rookie was able to work his way onto the field, and he appears to have done enough to earn a larger role in 2025. His rookie season pulled in some intriguing statistical comps, suggesting we may see his star continuing to rise in Year 2. But with a lack of draft capital behind him, can he continue to put up the level of production that will insulate him against potential additions moving forward?
