As a rookie, Garrett Wilson ranked 13th in EP/G, sixth in targets, and 31st in PPR/G, with one of the worst FPOE/G (No. 240). Wilson gave us three WR1 performances, averaging just under 28 fantasy points per game (27.9), with four other weeks as a WR2, posting 16.9 PPR/G.
He played with Zach Wilson, Mike White, and Joe Flacco, sharing time as the Jets’ quarterback. Also, Breece Hall tore his ACL in October of that season. Wilson’s Year 1 inefficiencies could be explained by the team context. In Year 2, we dreamed about a quarterback upgrade to Aaron Rodgers to pair with Wilson, but the veteran QB suffered an Achilles injury early in 2023.
One 2024 rookie came in with just as much promise, if not more, and struggled with poor QB play throughout his rookie year. However, could this young receiver be even better than Wilson based on his Year 1 production?
