When looking for ideal landing spots for 2025’s rookie wide receiver class, finding teams with a lack of competition and an abundance of open opportunities is a good place to start. Many of the teams across the NFL can offer one or the other, but there are a select few that can offer prospects both. While some of the best destinations may be obvious, there are a few that can offer sneaky upside to a young wideout.
In this exercise, we will use available receiving expected points (recEP) and vacated targets from the 2024 season to measure the available opportunities on each team. To get an idea of the strength of each franchise’s WR room, we will use a combination of Sports Info Solution’s advanced receiving metrics at the team level.
First, we will kick things off by looking at eight teams that check one of the boxes but not the other. Then we will detail the five teams that represent the most appealing destinations for incoming rookies. Finally, we will look at two teams that may seem like a strong WR landing spot at first glance, but have underlying factors that could end up burying an incoming rookie wideout.
