It’s a great week for streaming low-owned D/STs. The kind of week that makes us all pat ourselves on the back for not having wasted draft capital on the Jets’ admittedly fantastic secondary. We’re also hitting that point in the season where we have enough information to aim for defenses that have not just one good upcoming matchup, but several in a row. Defenses like the Vikings, Broncos, and Jets are also worth rostering through bye weeks and bad matchups wherever you have the bench space. Is it too early to start looking at D/ST matchups for the fantasy playoffs?

Week 6 is an embarrassment of riches for targeting struggling offenses with QB turnover. In all, three of the D/STs in this article are playing teams for whom the incumbent starter has been a disaster in five weeks of sample, and the backup QB has a long history of disaster. Jameis Winston is D/ST gold. Maybe platinum. He’s a geyser of oil on a struggling dirt farm. The last time we saw him as a full-time starter he was placing seventh of all time in single-season interceptions.
If, as is more likely, the Browns stick with Deshaun Watson, the offense should look the same as it has scoring the third-fewest points-per-game so far this year. With three starting linemen injured, Philly’s still potent pass rush should feast. Watson has a time to throw over three seconds, which is incredible considering he also sports the lowest yards-per-attempt (4.8) of any starter this week. It’s also borderline untenable without the offensive line or playmakers to take pressure off.
