The more current-season data RotoViz tools have to work with, the more accurately they’ll reflect what we can expect going forward. The picture is still starting to come into focus, but we can use slowly shifting perceptions to our advantage. The Minnesota Vikings (D/ST1) probably shouldn’t be available in five times as many fantasy leagues as the Dallas Cowboys (D/ST20), but lingering memories of the Cowboys’ dominance over the last two years offer us an exploitable opportunity. Which D/STs are screaming buys over the next several weeks? Let’s take a look.
Miami Dolphins (Available in 49.1% of Leagues/$3200 on DraftKings)
Opposition is more important than which defense we start. Through three weeks the Titans rank dead last in OPRK (Opposition Rank) for D/STs. It probably has something to do with this:
Will Levis has only managed positive Fantasy Points Over Expectation twice in 13 games. Through three games in 2024 he leads the league with eight turnovers. Even without the turnovers, the Titans offense has been bottom five in points, and yards. On the flip side the Dolphins, despite an absolute contagion of injuries over the last two years, have ranked fifth in sacks, tenth in interceptions, and second in pick-sixes. As the picture starts coming into focus, it’s likely D/ST streamers will be following the Titans and Levis around all year. In Week 4, you can beat the crowd to the punch with low roster rates and a very reasonable DK price. Bonus points for an upcoming slew of fantastic matchups.
