After the dumpster fire that was Week 1, the second week of the 2024 NFL season was a lot more back to normal at the tight end position. George Kittle and Trey McBride were among the top performers, as we expect them to be. There was another flash from Brock Bowers, who became the first rookie TE in NFL history with at least five grabs and 50 yards in his first two games. Old favorites like Hunter Henry, Mike Gesicki and Zach Ertz were all fantasy-relevant. It was a good week for many TEs. Although Travis Kelce and Sam LaPorta don’t appear to have gotten the memo that the season has started, which is a little concerning for their fantasy managers.
Stats do not include players from Monday Night Football
But we can only look back for so long. It is time to look forward to Week 3. These three players, available in over 50% of ESPN fantasy leagues, are all viable options to plug in and pay this week. They may not be superstars. I’m not claiming they are. But they can do a job in the most volatile position of fantasy sports.
