Can Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Career Trajectory Provide a Roadmap for This Rookie Wide Receiver Currently Being Selected in the Late Rounds of Drafts?

After starting his rookie season receiving the inconsistent opportunity that would be expected for a fourth-round (112th pick overall) wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown exploded down the stretch to deliver fantasy championships in 2021.

Since then he has not looked back. Working primarily out of the slot, St. Brown has solidified himself as one of the league’s most consistent and productive WRs. Over each consecutive season he has also become more efficient as part of the Lions’ high-scoring offense.

St. Brown was receiving consistent positive reports during his first NFL offseason, and in hindsight it is not a huge surprise that he emerged from a depth chart where his biggest competition consisted of names like Josh Reynolds, Kalif Raymond, and Tyrell Williams.

Heading into the 2024 season, there is another rookie slot receiver who has been receiving a steady drumbeat of glowing reviews from his team since being drafted, and, coincidentally, whose statistical and athletic profiles both mirror St. Brown’s. While the rookie faces stiffer competition than St. Brown did in his rookie year, any injuries to the veterans in front of him would likely result in a promotion to the team’s WR2 role. With plenty of potential to succeed, will this rookie be able to follow the blueprint laid out by St. Brown in order to become a fantasy force early in his career?

Week 1 WR Advanced Stats: Searching For Meaningful Trends Among the Smallest of Sample Sizes

Over the past week, we took a deep dive into the Advanced Stats Explorer in preparation for the 2024 season. Using the five years of data available in the tool, we created a sample and looked at trends from 2019 to 2023 regarding targets and routes, intended air yards, yards after the catch and evasion, and finally catchable targets, drops, first downs, and touchdowns. There…...

Ladd McConkey Was the Rookie WR2 in Week 1, But Is There Any Chance He Finishes 2024 as the Rookie WR1?

Back in May, Mat Irby detailed Ladd McConkey’s rookie year potential after he landed with the Chargers. One of the biggest highlights of the article focused on the seeming lack of target competition that McConkey would face in his rookie season. Much has been made of the Chargers’ lack of pass catchers. With Keenan Allen headed to Chicago, the team is left with the once-promising sophomore, Quentin Johnston,

Week 2 Waiver Wire: A Potentially Elite TE and Multiple Emerging Backup RBs Are Likely Available in Your Home Leagues

As we enter our first week of waivers for most home leagues, I want to lay out the format for the waivers article before we get into the players to target. In order for a player to be labeled as a possible waiver addition, they must have an ownership of 50% or less on either Yahoo or ESPN. On the opposite end, if a player…...
