The Commanders Added Jayden Daniels and a Duo of Exciting Pass Catchers in the 2024 Draft, but How Long Before They Become Fantasy Producers?

Heading into the 2024 NFL draft with six of the top 100 picks, the Washington Commanders were in a prime position to rebuild their roster in a hurry. To the delight of fantasy owners, the team decided to kick off their rebuild by using four of their top 100 picks on the offensive side of the ball. With the second overall pick, the Commanders selected their new franchise quarterback, Heisman-trophy winner Jayden Daniels. Washington then didn’t waste much time in adding two new weapons for their franchise cornerstone; tight end Ben Sinnott at pick 53 and wide receiver Luke McCaffrey at pick 100.

While it does not look like Daniels will face much adversity in claiming Washington’s starting QB spot, both Sinnott and McCaffrey face considerable competition from veterans that may impede their ascension up the team’s depth chart. After looking at the path each player must take to receive meaningful playing time this year, should we be expecting them to help us win fantasy championships in Year 1, or would it be more beneficial for fantasy managers rostering the newcomers to focus on the future?
