The Underwear Olympics are over for another season, with the 2024 NFL scouting combine in the rearview mirror. The prospects have been prodded, poked, and posed endless questions. It’s been great fun. But what lessons have we learned about some of the prospects as draft season progresses to its next stage? I’ve had a look at six tight ends who all had different experiences over the last few days.
WINNERS
Theo Johnson made the most of his week in Indy with a strong showing in the athletic drills. Johnson ran the second-fastest 40-yard dash among the 11 participants (4.57). He was tied for first with a 1.55 10-yard split. Johnson also led the way with a 4.19 20-yard shuttle. Oh, and just for good measure, he was also second in the vertical (39.5) and broad jumps (10.5). It was a really good week of work for the former Nittany Lion, and just what we have come to expect from the athletic freaks from Penn State. His performances have also led to favorable comps between Johnson, Jimmy Graham and Travis Kelce, which isn’t too bad at all for Johnson’s draft stock.
