Shawn Siegele discusses the role of forced missed tackles in NFL draft evaluation and breaks down the top RB prospects in the 2024 class.
We’re about to release the first edition of the 2024 RotoViz Rookie Guide, and I’m excited for what will be our best product yet. We’ll be using all of the signature RotoViz rookie metrics, including data from the Box Score Scout and RV Prospect Labs.
In addition, I wrote almost 100 blurbs using a ton of advanced stats from Sports Info Solutions, the team that powers user-favorite tools like the Stealing Signals app and the Advanced Stats Explorer. Plus, Blair Andrews has an early look at sleeper options to help you across formats.
To give you a little bit of a feel for some of the elements we’ll discuss in the Guide, today’s exercise will examine the 2024 RB class through one particular lens: forced missed tackles. Although the key to any good evaluation is to understand the player’s profile in its entirety, forced missed tackles stand as one of my favorite metrics for two critical ends of the spectrum: separating out superstars and finding sleepers.

In the previous exercise I looked at the role of broken tackles and explained why the important metric can also send us down blind alleys. Colm Kelly and I discussed this and more as we previewed one of my favorite rookie RBs on RotoViz Overtime.
