Pulling signal from the noise is a difficult task after just one week of play. One helpful tool is the RotoViz SOS Streaming App, which uses previous-year data and updates weekly to show the best matchups at each position. Let’s look at what it says about D/ST schedules this week:
Keep in mind that at this point there’s a lot more data from 2022 than 2023. The app doesn’t know that Sean Payton is coaching the Broncos now, that Matthew Stafford looks like a total return to form post-injuries, or that P.J. Walker is unlikely to take the field for Carolina anytime soon. But it gives us fantastic context for the roster matchups we’ll see in Week 2.
