Shawn Siegele looks at two young stars already excelling in training camp and lays down the rationale for a Perpetual Reloading approach that starts right from the dynasty startup draft.
Bjorn Yang-Vaernet and I are about to embark on an RV TriFlex startup over at the FFPC, and we’ll keep you posted on the developments. Bjorn recently wrote a great piece breaking down the mix of positional incentives in startup drafts versus rookie drafts to create A Data-Driven Approach to the Perfect Dynasty Startup Draft. We’ll be following many of his recommendations as we work through the draft.
We’ll also be attempting to move down when and where it makes sense. After all, trading down is your dynasty superpower.
Perpetual Reloading is our overarching dynasty philosophy, and it created a situation in spring rookie drafts where we held large swaths of the first three rounds. Within those rounds, we have position-specific and player-specific tactics that allow us to exploit tiers and create additional excess value.
The results of those moves are already coming to fruition early in camp. Today I’ll dig a little deeper into how those moves have already generated big profits and how they help us set up the next wave of trades.
