The NFL Draft is behind us, and it is time for us to venture boldly into the most beautiful time of year: fantasy draft season. Whether you play in dynasty leagues, devy leagues (where you can roster college players but you do not accrue any points until the player enters the NFL), or C2C leagues (where you have both an NFL and College roster running simultaneously and the players move from college roster to NFL roster upon entering the league), RotoViz has you covered.
This series of articles will focus on the next generation of fantasy football stars and potential breakout candidates waiting to take the world by storm as not seen since Joe Burrow and Anthony Richardson. I will break down the future of each position and prepare you for all your upcoming drafts. The players observed for ranking are eligible for the 2024-2026 NFL Draft classes, the dates associated with the player designate draft eligibility.
Listen along as Travis May and I break down the QB position in this week’s College to Canton Episode.
At this point the fantasy community knows what to look for when evaluating QB prospects. In fact I have discussed Travis May’s excellent work on Scheme-Adjusted Pass Efficiency (SAPE) in every article I have written.
“In short, in today’s NFL, teams value two things in quarterback play.
- Highly efficient, accurate passing with limited turnovers.
- Sufficient mobility that forces defenses to account for the quarterback as a potential rushing threat on any given play.”
While we sometimes see a freakish combine performance that propels a prospect à la Richardson, that is a rare occurrence in recent drafts (Daniel Jones and Josh Allen did not have great SAPE scores).
