Josh Jacobs was a polarizing player last offseason. His fifth-year option was declined, which led to many heated debates about the future Raiders RB depth chart. When drafting season closed on Underdog Jacobs was regularly going in the seventh round. Jacobs rewarded his drafters with a 330-point fantasy season, which was good for an RB3 overall finish.
Most of the discourse around Josh Jacobs has been centered around his lack of receiving workload. Jacobs not only increased his receiving output over the past two seasons, but his rushing volume also increased. He handled a whopping 393 touches in 2022.
The days of bell cow running backs who handle these types of workloads do not come around very often anymore. I am not suggesting the player we are going to cover in today’s article is in line to get 400 touches in 2023. But if Jacobs is the upside comp, this 2022 rookie could be a steal in 2023 best ball drafts and dynasty trades.
