Shawn Siegele breaks down blockbuster dynasty trades and explores the seven trade techniques that made them possible.

The FFPC dynasty cutdown deadline occurs at midnight tonight. All teams must get down to 16 players, and that includes the seven teams I co-manage, six of which are in the RotoViz TriFlex format.

With each team cutting players and trying to get their rosters in good shape prior to rookie drafts, a flurry of trades happen as fantasy GMs man the virtual phones.

Each year the Dynasty Workshop focuses on how to build a champion by continuously increasing the overall value of your team’s assets. I focus on two central themes – Perpetual Reloading and the Permanent Championship Window. The former creates the latter, and by perpetually reloading we have a lot of assets to manage in every league.

In the first edition of the 2023 workshop, I looked at How to Build a Coherent, High-Upside Framework for Dynasty Roster Construction. The workshop included examples of the teams built using the philosophy, and most of those teams have multiple picks in each of the first three rounds of 2023 rookie drafts.

We also have far more than 16 valuable players in most cases. As a result, it becomes imperative to work with leaguemates to get down in a way that benefits both teams.

Today’s workshop will focus on trade tactics that allow you to craft win-win trades, and perhaps the main thing, actually get trades done. I’ll be breaking down blockbusters, but also the smaller trades that act as catalysts for bigger moves.

Redrafting and Then Ranking Every Rookie Class from 2015 to 2024

The other day I began an article where I redrafted the 2024 rookie class with our current information. That simple exercise led to all sorts of compelling and provocative questions. How far does Caleb Williams fall now that it’s taken him just half a…...

Zero RB Universe, Week 11: The Young Stars Rise As the Reinforcements Arrive

The RotoViz-approved Zero RB options had a big week with Chase Brown, Bucky Irving, and Tyrone Tracy. Each member of the trio scored 17-plus points and all rank among the top-15 RBs across the last five contests. Last week I noted that a lot of the top RBs were relying on efficiency in a way that was certainly reflective of their fantastic performances but was…...
