Notes

  • Startup draft in 2021
  • 2022 – Third Place
  • 2021 – Champion

With a title and third place finish in-hand after my first two seasons steering this ship, my sights are set on creating a best ball dynasty that gets paid every year.

Like Shawn Siegele, I prefer to operate in the Permanent Championship Windowso it’s back to the drawing board for 2023. I don’t have much in the way draft capital after previous trades, but this team has tons of firepower to either compete as-is or to use in trades to reshape a new team for the new year. Primarily, I’d like to inject a little youth into this roster at wide receiver. I’d also like to find a way to add a successor to Tannehill and a developmental running back.

To kick things off, I sent a bunch of offers for second year wide receivers using my running back depth. But which player did I dangle?

  • Austin Ekeler is probably worth more to me than anyone would be willing to pay, and if this squad is back in the money in 2023, it’ll likely be in large part due to his efforts.
  • Alvin Kamara is hanging on to his dynasty value by a thread and would like not return an early first round pick or any wide receivers young enough or good enough to warrant the transaction.
    • Ditto, Dalvin Cook.
  • David Montgomery has never really achieved high dynasty value and with his team situation in flux due to his free agent status, only his biggest fans would be willing to give me a young WR2 in exchange.

I decided that Najee Harris was the best chip to use in trade offers. He’s the best combination of youth, production, and name value I’ve got at the position. While he’s fallen out of favor compared to his value following his rookie season, there are a few teams in this league that are very running back needy. Plus, rabid Steelers fans are everywhere.

I was able to land one of my primary, mega second-year breakout targets, but which one?
