This weekly article is a deep dive into some guys with exploitable matchups, something to prove, or are just great deals on FanDuel. The goal is always to help you win some money on a week-to-week basis. Barring that, at least you can have some fun playing DFS, in which case this article can help you get started on the road to profitability. Using RotoViz’s excellent tools, I’ll go position by position and offer both a top play and a sleeper pick for FanDuel based on Conference Championship matchups.
Quarterback
JOE BURROW – $8,300
Joe Burrow has seemingly been the “boogeyman” when it comes to the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. Burrow is 3-0 against K.C., including a big conference title win last year. When we take a look at Burrow’s two regular-season games against the Chiefs, he has averaged 14 more points a game. It wasn’t until the AFC title game last year that Burrow threw his first interception. Even then he was the second-best fantasy QB that week and walked out of Arrowhead the winner.
During the season, K.C. allowed the third most fantasy points to the QB position (19.5/game). Last week against Trevor Lawrence they allowed only 14.5 fantasy points, but an untimely fumble by corner/receiver Jamal Agnew changed what should’ve been a TD into a turnover, effectively making it near impossible for the Jags to come back and win the game. Lawrence is good, but he’s just getting started. Burrow, on the other hand, has “ice” in his veins and will take shots and exploit the Chiefs’ secondary. He’s currently the third most expensive QB on FanDuel, and this is a matchup to exploit.
